Most of Bramble switches itself on. A few things do not. iOS keeps them in Settings, where no app is allowed to reach, so you do them by hand. This is the whole list, in the order to do it.

1. Turn protection on

In Bramble, turn protection on. It asks for three iOS permissions in a row: a VPN configuration, a content filter, and Screen Time. Allow each one. If one is declined, the shield will not seal, and Settings › Shield in Bramble names what is missing.

2. Turn Bramble on in Safari

No app can switch a Safari extension on, so this is the one layer you set up entirely by hand. It takes two things: turning Bramble on, and letting it see every website. The Safari steps, screen by screen.

3. Turn on Sensitive Content Warning

This is a setting built into your iPhone, not into Bramble. With it on, Bramble checks images faster. Without it, images are still checked, just more slowly, so skipping it breaks nothing. It needs iOS 17 or later. The steps, screen by screen.

4. If you use Chrome or a Mac

Bramble also runs in Chrome, Edge and Brave, and on a Mac. Both take their settings from the iPhone app, so the iPhone comes first. The Chrome page has the install and the pairing. The Mac page has the rest.

5. Keyholder mode, if you want it

Keyholder mode is for a person you have asked to hold your Screen Time passcode. It is done on your phone, with them, in person. When it is done, removing Bramble takes a conversation with them rather than a few taps. The keyholder steps, written for them.
