Terms and conditions

These Terms govern your use of the Bramble iOS app, the Bramble web services, and the Bramble SMS program (together, the “Service”), operated by Bramble Health LLC (“Bramble,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use Bramble
You must be at least 18 years old to use Bramble. By creating an account, you confirm you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account. Email luke@getbramble.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
3. Trusted Circle
When you invite someone into your Circle, you’re choosing to share certain trends and signals with them — see the privacy policy for exactly what. You can revoke access at any time from the app. Inviting someone does not give them rights over your account.
4. Keyholder mode
Keyholder mode is optional, and it becomes available only once someone has accepted your invitation into your Circle. If you turn it on, that person sets an Apple Screen Time passcode on your device that you never see. While Keyholder mode is on, turning protections off or removing Bramble needs that passcode — so it runs through the person you chose rather than a switch you hold. They can lift it at any time, and you can ask them to at any time. Bramble never sets, holds, sees, or transmits that passcode. Erasing your device through Apple clears Screen Time restrictions along with everything else, so Keyholder mode is real friction you choose in advance, not a lock we enforce.
5. Spike, the AI companion
Spike is an AI companion available in the app for support in a hard moment. Spike is not a therapist, counselor, or crisis service, and its responses may be imperfect. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
6. SMS program
This program is not currently active. Bramble is now available as a direct download on the App Store, and no part of the Bramble website or app currently collects a mobile number for SMS. The terms below describe how the program works if and when it is reactivated.
6.1 What it is
The Bramble SMS program is a one-time transactional message. When you provide your mobile number and actively opt in, Bramble sends one transactional SMS. There is no subscription, no recurring messages, and no marketing texts on this program.
6.2 Frequency
One message per opt-in. Bramble does not send follow-up SMS, reminders, or marketing texts on this program.
6.3 Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your wireless carrier may apply to the message you receive. Bramble does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may.
6.4 Opt-in and opt-out
You opt in by entering your mobile number and actively checking a consent box. The checkbox is never pre-selected.
Bramble has not built an automated STOP or HELP reply handler for this program. If you have any question or concern about a message from Bramble, email luke@getbramble.app and it will be handled directly.
6.5 Supported carriers
The SMS program is available on major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Virgin Mobile, and others.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6.6 We don’t share your mobile number
We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your mobile number, SMS opt-in status, or SMS-related consent data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. See the privacy policy for full details.
6.7 Future SMS use cases
If Bramble adds additional SMS features in the future — for example, in-app Circle invitations or check-in reminders — those will be handled under a separate consent flow with their own opt-in.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t use Bramble to harass, threaten, or surveil anyone. Don’t use Bramble to attempt to bypass legal restrictions on yourself or others. Don’t reverse-engineer the blocking layer to evade it on someone else’s account. We can suspend accounts that violate these rules.
8. The blocking layer
Bramble blocks content using Apple’s Family Controls, ManagedSettings, and Network Extension APIs. The blocking layer is intentional friction — a tool you set against your own future self in a hard moment. It is not a guarantee. We make no promises that every blocked domain will be blocked, or that bypass attempts will always be caught.
9. Therapist content
The “Find a therapist” section may include links to or information about third-party therapists or counseling services. We are not responsible for the content or quality of third-party services. Using a therapist found through Bramble is between you and that therapist.
10. Subscriptions and payment
Bramble is free, with no payments of any kind today. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid offerings in the future. If we do, the price, billing cycle, and trial period will be shown at the point of purchase, subscriptions will be billed by Apple through your Apple ID, and you’ll be able to cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties beyond those we cannot disclaim under law. Bramble is a support tool, not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or pastoral care.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if you paid nothing.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we’ll notify you in the app and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
