Turning protection off.

You can, always. In Bramble, go to Settings › Shield › Turn off all protection. There is a short wait, and your Circle is told — that is the point of it — but nothing here is designed to trap you, and nobody has to approve it.

If someone holds your Screen Time passcode

If you have asked a keyholder to hold your Screen Time passcode, turning protection off and deleting the app both need it. That is what keyholder mode is for.

In Chrome

The Chrome extension is separate. You remove it from chrome://extensions. If you remove it while it is paired, it stops checking in, and your Circle will see that its protection came down. They are not told why.
